Happy Bucks from:
- Peter – happy to have made it to Florida and back after getting the condo ready for tenants, especially happy to have done this before the snow arrived.
- Dave – one happy buck after getting his flu shot and one “sad” buck as he could not sit for a while
- Kevin – looking forward to next Monday, after the TV Auction is over!
- Basil – happy that Dorothy’s family’s dinner party was a resounding success
Program:
Kevin Manuel advised that everything is ready to go with regards to the TV Auction
- A total of 33 hours is required as follows: 19 hours of air time, 6 hours of set up and 8 hours clean up.
- YOY stats are as follows:
Total Our Club
- 2014: 985 items valued $175K 171 items valued $35K
- 2013: 870 items valued $162K 167 items valued $28K, $16K earned
- 2012: 912 items valued $139K
- 104 items were not properly entered into the warehouse; 80% of these were from our club. Next year we will have a refresher course on the process of entering/delivering items to the warehouse.
- The Auction is streamed Live on Rogers website
- Auction Location - The East York Civic Centre located at:
850 Coxwell Avenue – NW Corner of Coxwell & Mortimer
Parking at the Civic Centre in the South Lot was free after 6:00 pm Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday last year and we expect the same thing this year but we need to confirm. There is also paid parking prior to 6:00 pm. Do not park in the metered parking in the driveway to the Civic Centre as that is never free.
- If you are on the Anchor Desk – Basil Dias and Dave Hardy – you need to be at the studio one hour prior to air time
- All others – 30 minutes before your shift starts
- Job/tasks remain the same as in previous years
- Check in with the security desk upon arrival to get your name badge; turn in the lanyard when you leave
- There is cafeteria food service with a new chef; anyone with dietary restrictions may be accommodated by contacting Kevin prior to the event
- The Auction is a major social event and the largest fundraiser we have. Volunteers include participants from 10 clubs. Basil made a plea to have at least 6 additional volunteers from our club participate on Sunday beginning at 9:30 am as this will greatly reduce the time required to clean up. Please volunteer!
