Scarborough Renewal Update

FEBRUARY 4th, 2015

4. Toast to the Queen, Canada and Rotary – Gerd  Wengler
5. Attendance – 21
6. Guests – Mandy introduced 3 of her lady guests, Ufuoma (originally from Nigeria), Tracy (originally from Ghana) and Nandi (originally from St.Lucia). David introduced his niece, Lillian who is visiting Toronto.
7. Announcements:  Gordon Brown reminded everyone about the Club Service meeting at Cassidy’s on the 5^th of February. Also he asked members to sign up for the Euchre evening if they so desire. Gerd Wengler announced that Gordon, Dhanny and Donna have thrown their hats in to become club directors for 2015/16. Basil Dias had a wonderful trip to Dubai and South Africa
8. Marbelous Draw:  Jim Boyko. Roland List’s ticket was drawn once again but he failed to pick the magic marble. Everyone expressed their deep sympathy and he received the consolation prize of $5.
9. Sergeant-at-arms:  Jacob Lakirovich.  All the recent travelers were requested to contribute.  Frank Allison was happy to see so many lovely ladies in the audience. Gerd Wengler had a sad buck for the passing away of her niece’s pet dog.
10. Speaker: Julia Bubrin was introduced by Arthur Retnakaran and she gave an update on the great work being done by David Hardy and herself on the Scarborough Community development initiative. A glossy final report on the renewal campaign was provided to all members. Gerd Wengler thanked her for her fine efforts.  
11. Conclusion: Gerd Wengler concluded by telling everyone an excellent rib tickler about the lady who told her hairdresser about her impending visit to Italy to see the pope.
