Rotary Foundation updateAlan Meredith introduced today’s speaker, Suresh Agarwal, who gave an update on the Rotary Foundation North Scarborough Chapter for the 2026 -2027 year.
A Goal of $1500.00 US as club's contribution to end polio Campaign now. Thank you, all club members, collectively for this support.
N.S. Rotary Foundation Business 2026/ 2027 plan (finalized) Thanks to our Past President Danny Cassidy.
Foundation Grant Application 2026/ 2027 Approved and funds into the club's account. Again, focused work done by Danny Cassidy and his Team.
2026 Foundation walk held last month was very successful and our club raised $850.00. Thank you to all the Club Members.
In 2026 and beyond my Focus remains to explore the innovative ways to generate more revenue for the Rotary Foundation at the Club level.
A recent newsletter shared by Our District 7070 Rotary Foundation Committee Chair Virginia O'ReIly, Summarized the Importance of Engaging each club and each individual member through Participation enthusiastically, opening new Channels and reenergizing the existing venues for raising Funds, I.E
Individually:
l) Increase online giving to the Rotary Foundation using ROTARY DIRECT.
2) Join the Polio Service Plus Society by Contributing at least $100.00 U.S. and Wear the Polio Plus T shirt or purchase one.
3) Join the Paul Harris Society. By Contributing a minimum of $1000.00 in Rotary Annual Fund Every Year.
4) Join Rotary's Donor Recognition Program by becoming Sustaining Member.
I continue to explore opportunities to host a club Social or a Special Fund Raiser in 2027 spring in Support of the Rotary Foundation through various ideas and any innovative ideas from the members are very much appreciated.
Every N.S. Rotary Club Member Yearly Contributing for Polio Plus, Paul Harris Society and to become sustaining member.
Continue to Enlist 1 more Club Member to Present Rotary Foundation Committee.
My Focus continues to Liasson with all Rotary Club Members in our club and the district clubs and shares their knowledge about affairs of Rotary Foundation.
I had spoken in the past about enrolling and being the part of:
-R.L.I. Part 2 Campaign starting October 7th. 2026
-District 7070 Conference in October23rd to 25th, 2026.
I respectfully submit the following suggestions and ask all board members for their own ideas from experience to achieve results collectively
Seek Sponsorship from Guest speakers from Corporations visiting our club for speaking engagement to improve our Marketing Revenue and club's exposure.
Open Discussion among Board members for innovative Revenue Generating Ideas. I.E. Reviving Rib Fest Program or Similar, sharing with Diverse Community Groups in cultural Program.
Local In-house silent auctions once a month to raise funds.
Local weekly fun games in the lunch Meeting to make the gathering more Fun and Interesting while raising funds also.
Arthur thanked Suresh for his presentation to the club on the Rotary Foundation.

- Basil reminded everyone that the Rotary Foundation qualification conference is on November 14th and 2 members must attend.
- There will be NO lunch meeting next week as the Gala is on Friday the 16th.
- Basil gave an update on the Gala:
- Thank you to Maddy and Sameer for the donation of wine bottles for all the tables.
- Close to 150 tickets have been sold so far.
- There will be 5 Paul Harris awards presented during the evening.
- Suresh invites all members to celebrate Diwali on November 4th with a glass of wine.
- Danny will lead us in a Remembrance Day lunch program on November 11th.

- Avrum did not fine anyone and instead asked for Happy Bucks.
- Tom was happy to celebrate Thanksgiving.
- Courtney went to a Rotary meeting during his trip to Belize and was happy to be able to make a presentation there.
- Barry was happy to celebrate Thanksgiving.
- Arthur was just happy.
- Saifoo shared a nice poem.
- Basil was happy Dorothy is moving from Sunrise to Markhaven home.
- Suresh was happy for his trip to Boldt castle in the 1000 islands.
There being no further business for the good of Rotary, Basil closed the meeting.
