President Gordon:

There will be no lunch meeting this week at Floga.

Please join us for Pub Night on Thursday at 'Smash Restaurant and Bar'. 4261 Hwy 7, Unionville ON L3R 9W6. Quite a few of you did not want to go to The Mansion again and we were going to go to The Coach House in Ballantrae but they are not able to accommodate us for about 20 people.

As you can see from the address, Smash is on Hwy 7 west of Kennedy in a plaza.

As usual please respond 'register or decline' by Tuesday.

Basil encouraged all members to get on board with the Gala fundraiser, on Friday, October 18th. Tickets are $125 each. Includes dining, dancing, and a show.

Sergeant at Arms:      No SAA today, in the spirit of camaraderie.

Guest Speaker:           With no officially scheduled speaker, we were honored to hear from several members about exciting lives and times.

Suresh started us off with interesting tales regarding his life story: Suresh was born with no official birthdate on record, only the condition or position of the moon. His birth was settled on September 29th, 1950, although it may have been 1951. September 29th was decided because his wife’s birthday was on that day, a few years later.

Suresh arrived in Canada on December 31, 1972, to join his sister in B.C. After 10 years working in a sawmill and other places, Suresh left the snow of B.C. for the cold in Edmonton, where he worked for 30 years.

Suresh and his wife Anjali enjoy travel and have visited 37 countries. His friend from the RBC encouraged Suresh to join Rotary and become a person of action.

Danny and Ruth were born on the same day, two years apart. This Remembrance Day will mark his 50th day in Canada.

Dhanni also arrived in Canada on Remembrance Day and has a birthday and anniversary a day apart from Danny and Ruth.

Arthur arrived from the University of Madison in Wisconsin, after earning a PhD in Insect Biology. Sarsi told him that she was going to Sault Saint Marie and that if he was smart, he would follow her.

President Gordon then closed the meeting.
