Announcements:

1. Arthur: All the gloves have been delivered to 21 schools

2. Gerd: Presented a check for $10K from Anthony Lippa to the club.

 

3.Dhanni: Presented a check for$1K to be given to Steve Rutledge (Sun Rise Club,Whitby) for his project of Adopt a Village in Laos.

 

 

 

 

 

4. Basil: Led us in “Happy Birthday” for Dhanni who is turning 29.

 

5. Gordon: Requested everyone to register for the Xmas party on the 15th of Dec at the

Scarborough Golf Club at 6:30 PM; $65 per person.

 

6. Gerd: Proudly announced that he could remember 29 of the 30 songs in the Beatles

White Album, a no mean achievement indeed!  Also mentioned that his trophy, the Red

Fox, was stuffed by a professional Taxidermist in Germany and shipped to Canada. It

has arrived at his residence and has been placed on top of the shelf. Apparently it is

driving his dog crazy! (Looks vicious!)

 

Marbelous Draw:

Conducted by Jim Boyko and the lucky ticket was drawn by Steve Rutledge.  Jim Boyko won

the consolation prize. 

 

Sergeant at Arms:

Barry Smith solicited happy bucks.

1. Peter is going in for a cataract operation. We wish him well.

 

2. Anthony is all excited about “Rebecca Gold” (An You tube drama by our multitalented

Barry Smith)

 

3. Courtney was happy to report that the food drive has proven to be excellent.

Scarborough Food Bank has received has received 7.5 tons to date!

 

4. Danny has joined the Panam Centre Gym facilities for workout.

 

5. Basil thanked our Vice President Barry Smith for bringing in several new members.

 

6. Arthur informed the club that his son Ravi is willing to give a talk on “Diabetes” if asked.

 

Instead of a Speaker we had a potpourri of presentations:

1. Steve Rutledge: Gave a description of his project, Adopt a Village in Laos (Sun Rise

Club, Whitby). He is heading off to Laos in a few days and will spend 4 months working

on the Project. They plan to install new pipes and establish a permanent water supply for

the new school which does not have any water supply! They also plant on installing filter

systems for 8 villages.

 

 

 

 

2. Barry Smith: Described the dedicated website for the auction and all details about the

auction.

 

3. Basil Dias: He has sent out a detailed list of volunteers and their time slots for Fri Nov

30th, Sat Dec 1st and Sun Dec 2nd. More volunteers are required for Sunday.

 

Gerd concluded the meeting by wishing everyone a pleasant week.
