Announcements:
 
  1. Arthur thanked everyone who helped at last Saturday’s Park Clean Up.  It went extremely well.
 
  1. All Scarborough Rotary Clubs are involved with the Paul Harris Scholarships – May 28th is the dinner at the Centennial Hospitality building (8th floor) – cost of $30.  So, the June 1 meeting is cancelled.  More invitation information to come.
 
  1. With the last weekend of June being the R. I. Convention, we may cancel the last meeting in June.  More analysis and announcements to come.
 
  1. We are still looking at various fund-raising functions such as Chase the Ace, Bingo Night and Raffle Draw.  Announcements to come in the near future.

It is a Not for Profit organization in existence since 1985 providing affordable housing to many families.  It produces 100 homes per year in the GTA.
 
Homes are purchased by lower income families where only 25% of their income is used for Mortgage Payments.  Purchasers of the homes must donate 500 labour hours as well.  Over 3.3 million Canadians need adequate housing.
 
Pinery Trail is in Scarborough with 49 homes.  There are also projects in Caledon, Brampton and Georgina.  Our Club donation goes to Pinery Trail.
 
Arthur thanked Claudia for her very informative presentation and presented her with a cheque for $1,000.  Arthur and his family have been incredible annual supporters of the Habitat cause for many years.
