Announcements-
- Basil Dias reminded us, that Camp Enterprise is a Club event and, as such, everyone should be involved in it. 
We need    - Moderators for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17-19, 2014.
                         - Chaperones for Camp Enterprise- Friday and Saturday nights Oct 17 and 18th.
                         - Bus Chaperone for Sunday Oct 19- student return.
-Basil Dias thanked everyone who participated in preparing breakfast for the Women  Build at Habitat for Humanity this week.
-Dhanni  Ramdeen reminded us to solicit sponsors for the TV Auction 100% of the funds stay in our club.
-Dhanni Ramdeen announced that The Blue Sky Group has two sponsorships to date:  total value $5500.
-President Madhavi announced that this weekend is the Foundation Walk at Sugar Beach.

Marbelous Draw- 
Elli Papatheodorou did the honours and Al Meredith held the lucky ticket. Unfortunately, the mutant marble eluded his grasp and lives for another day.

Sergeant at Arms-
Jim Boyko went straight to Happy Bucks.
-Al Meredith couldn’t believe his luck and donated his lucky $5.
-Jim Boyko really liked Arthur’s Rotary Moment and noted that he was just a poor accountant when he joined in 1979.
-Gerd Wengler was sad that his beloved Dorothy was away again. In her absence he has driven around Lake Erie in his new Range Rover just to get it “broken in”.
- Gerd Wengler was also happy to announce that he would be having dinner with Stephen Harper.
- Barry Smith was sad that he had to leave early, but assured Jacqueline Smith that he would listen to her presentation later.
- Arthur Retnakaran was sad that his son’s paper on diabetes was upstaged in the press by Rob Ford’s announcement.
-Frank Allison joined Arthur in his lament.
- We are hosting the Town Hall Meeting for Scarborough Renewal, September 30, 2014.

-President Madhavi presented Basil Dias and Emmanuel Nwankwo each with a new pin in appreciation for bringing in new members.

Program-
Elli Papatheodorou introduced our Guest Speaker Jacqueline Smith.

 Jacqueline is the Employment Placement Specialist at Goodwill Industries.  Jacqueline pointed out that when asked, most people are aware that Goodwill has stores and blue bins, but they do not know about the services that they offer. Their Employment Services Office helps find work opportunities for the disadvantaged.  There are two offices, one at Kennedy and Eglinton and one at Islington and the QEW.  Here they provide use of computers, offer counseling, career coaching, workshops on interview preparation and follow up services.    
Jacqueline hopes that by educating Rotary about what Goodwill offers it may open doors to employment possibilities.

President Madhavi  thanked Jacqueline Smith  for her presentation and presented her with a certificate from Operation Eyesight.
