4. With Caroline away in China we need many more auction items for this is a only real fund raiser.
5. Basil reported on the success of Camp Enterpise.  A total of 22 kids from four schools came through with a better understanding of how to tackle life after school ends. (Learning never ends, however), thanks to the generosity of Park Property who underwrote most of the $6,000 costs.
6. The Club’s monthly Board meeting will be held at Dhanni Ramdeen’s home on Monday Oct. 27th beginning at 6:30 pm.
7. Before coming make sure that you vote and vote early.
8. Gerd reported that both he and Donna attended the meeting of the Toronto R.C. when they hosted all the District Governors in two of Rotary Zones.  They found themselves at a table that was filled with District Governors among the 500 or so in the room. The main speaker was R.I.’s President-Elect Barry ???? who is from Sri Lanka.  He wants to re-organize the business side of R.I. and also spoke on the importance of the work being done in Polio Plus, and membership issues in various parts of the world.

Marbelous Draw:
Barry Smith was the winner to-day but only for $5.00

Sergeant at Arms Basil Dias:

To-day he invited all who wished to contribute happy bucks. But first he asked a dollar from everyone who did not know the meaning of the Rotary program called WASHRAG which provides water where it is needed in the world:
This quiz generated much good fortune for the club’s finances and puzzlement from most of the members present as that acronym stands for:  Water And Sanitation Rotary Action Group.
Basil has been digging deep into the Rotarian lately. Maybe it was during the quiet time when he and Dorothy were chaperoning the students at Camp Enterprise last weekend.

● Frank Allison was happy to be back from their tour of the old sod including Scotland this time. They took a vessel down the Clyde and back to Liverpool via the Mersey.  Frank said that the ship was just approaching Liverpool at sunrise on his 70th birthday.  He left Liverpool 47 years ago for a new life in Canada where he didn’t know a soul.

● Gerd shared his flying Snowy Owl experiences with us including seeing one that was far too south for normal residency suggesting that climate change is affecting these birds too.

Presentation:
Dhanni introduced Nevine and Ryan (both from the Rotary Club of Scarborough), to tell us about a project called “FACE” regarding an orphanage in Egypt that their club is supporting and which they hope other clubs and the District will also support.

A Power Point presentation was provided and is attached for your viewing
