Marbelous Draw:

Donna was the winner of the draw but only $5 which she graciously returned to the club treasury.

Seargeant at Arms:
Peter Masson together with Mike Mushet toured the room soliciting “happy” bucks. Much was returned to the club’s treasury from members attending.  Your scribe offered his thanks for a successful driver’s examination the day before he left for a two week vacation through Quebec and the Maritimes. That was followed by his 80th birthday on August 24th. He has discovered the folly of telling Facebook your birth date. He was inundated with a gaggle of greetings from near and far.

Program:
ADG Raffi introduced DG Michael Bell.  Michael has only been a Rotarian since 2005 but has gone on to be president of the Etobicoke club on two occasions and to chair the fabulously successful Toronto Ribfest held on July 1st weekends from 2011 to 2015 raising $650,000 for charitable work as a result. Raffi described Michael’s commitment to volunteer service including his activities at the District level.  Of note is that during the three years that he was club president he was instrumental in the addition of 42 new members during the last three years.
Michael then began his talk by taking us with him (figuratively) to the gathering of all incoming presidents of Rotary when President Ravi Ravindran urged all Rotarians “Be a gift to the World”.
Please listen to the complete recording of Raffi’s introduction and Governor Michael’s presentation in the following link.
