-A business roundtable will take place on November 6at Centennial College and they are hoping to have thirty businesses involved
-Gerd Wendler shared a story of how he managed to close the Ottawa airport last Wednesday night.
He serves as the Chairman of the German Industry and Commerce and was invited to a state banquet in Ottawa. Unfortunately as he landed he had a flat tire and they had to close the airport until they were able to get his plane off the runway.
- Basil Dias reminded us, that Camp Enterprise is a Club event, and as such, everyone should be involved in it. We need- Moderators for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17-19, 2014
.-Arthur Retnakaran had an apology buck as he meant to attend the Renewal Town Hall, but his daughter called and reminded him that they had plans to go out to dinner for his son-in-law’s birthday.
-Arthur was also proud to announce that his son’s Diabetes Research work was mentioned on CTV News. This is very beneficial as more people come forward for the test studies when this happens.
- Tony Baker is blessed with health, much travel and service, but the greatest blessing of all is his wife. She is the motivator. They are celebrating 50 years of wedded bliss.

Marbelous Draw- Katherine Babony did the honours and Gerd Wengler and Mike Mushet held the lucky ticket. Unfortunately, the mutant marble eluded their grasp and lives for another day.

Sergeant at Arms-Dave Hardy fined Gerd Wengler for closing the Ottawa Airport last Wednesday.
 Happy Bucks-
-Jim Boyko told us about a client of his who received a call from CRA, telling her that she had arrears of $3500, dating back a few years and since she had not acted on all the notices that had been sent, she would be summoned to court unless she cleared the overdue amount immediately. She was quite concerned and asked the caller for his name, to which he responded John Anderson. As he gave his name she noticed that he had a strong Indian accent. She hung up and called Jim.

Program-
Jim Boyko introduced our Guest Speaker.
The details of Katherine Babony’s presentation will be provided via a voice file separately. Katherine is a member of the Whitby Sunrise Rotary Club, and joined us today to bring the Rotary District 7070 Conference to our attention. It is being held at the Prince Hotel in Toronto, October 24-26 2014. They have a James Bond Theme – Agents of Change- Each person makes a difference- running throughout the Conference. Paul Henderson is the keynote speaker. The conference promises to be both informative and fun.  Please listen to the voice file for the full presentation.
