Announcements:
Club Service (Group1) meeting at Basil Dias’ on Thursday October 8th at 7:00 pm.
Community Service/Vocational Service meeting at Baton Rouge on Wednesday October 7 at 2:00 pm.
Jacob announced the upcoming Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra concert on Saturday October 24 at 8:00 pm at the Salvation Army Citadel. This performance, “Breaking Bad: Colourful Characters in Music”, is sponsored by our club. The program includes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Overture To Don Giovanni; Alexander Rapoport’s “If Elvira Hadn’t Arrived In Time”; Georges Bizet/Pablo De Sarasate’s “Carmen Fantasy”; Igor Stravinsky’s “Petroushka”; and John Williams’ “The Imperial March (Darth Vader Theme) from Star Wars.

Kevin reminded us that the TV Auction needs LOTS of quality items, with only one month left to bring them in.

Alan also announced that to date (Sep 30) only two members had brought in items. Remember that we need hockey and other sports tickets, restaurant vouchers, hairdresser gift certificates, items from the local hardware stores, cameras, watches, jewelry, etc… Everybody we see or do business with each day is a potential donor.

Marbelous Draw:         Conducted by Kevin Manuel and won by Alan Meredith. The elusive mutant marble continued to elude Alan, who had to settle for $5.00.

Sergeant at Arms:         S/A Alan fined all in attendance who had not yet brought in TV auction items; this even included members who had items with them but hadn’t yet turned them in.
Happy bucks were collected from Gerd for his enjoyable trip to the East Coast, and from other happy members. (We’ll get you unhappy folks next time)

Today’s program was Director’s Reports, with Alan reporting for Dhanni and Basil reporting for
Gordon. It was emphasized that it is important to RSVP to invitations early, so that the
Event Chair can properly plan the event. Please accept or decline early.
