Dhanni Ramdeen introduced our guest speakers today, Steve Rutledge and Janet Thorsteinson, both of the Whitby Sunrise Club.

Janet has recently taken over from Steve. She took us on a trip first to the Dominican Republic (DR) and then to Laos. Their photos followed their visits and the work to prepare the kits of reusable feminine hygiene products. These were bagged and distributed to the teenage children in both locations. But first, the cloth had to be cut out in different shapes by volunteers here in Canada and then transported to where they were needed. Finally, we saw the sewing machines at work in the targeted countries and the orderly distribution of the kits to the young girls experiencing menstrual needs. Steve and Janet thanked the club for participating in this initiative and presented us with a "Thank You Banner."
Attached is the voice and video recording of the meeting.
