Guest Speaker: Okey Ndibe

See the source image Our guest speaker can only be described as fantastic. Okey Ndibe has a PhD in Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and has written several books, including “Arrows of Rain”, “Foreign Gods Inc.” and “Never Look an American in the Eye” among many. His essay “My Biafran Eyes” is about his childhood experience of war.
If we only listen to the recording of our meeting this once, this meeting is the one to listen to, even if you were at the meeting.
Okey was born in Yola in Northern Nigeria, of Igbo ethnicity, and spoke to us about ethnicity, honour and dishonour, genocide in Nigeria and Biafara, toxic trends and corrupt leadership.
All in attendance were held spell-bound, and the general consensus was that we would like to have Okey return for another engagement.
