Avrum introduced Rita Assaad to speak to the Club.

 

Rita joined the North Scarborough Rotary Club September, 2022

 

The following is a Ritas' brief introduction:

 

Rita serves as the Secretary and assistant general manager of Rising Sun Food Drive Foundation (RSFDF). Her involvement with RSFDF was encouraged by Courtney, who she has known for many years as a friend and former colleague. It also stems from a passion for wanting to eliminate hunger and poverty and being a part of an incredible team.

 

Volunteered with ACSA Food Bank in the past and now volunteers at Community Share Food Bank (CSFB) which serves an average of 70 clients on Tuesdays and over100 clients on Saturdays. Based on her experience with both ACSA and CSFB, the need and the demand for food banks is consistently high.

 

Rita is looking forward to serving with RSFDF in spreading the message of its mission to communities everywhere and making a difference in families’ lives.

Barry announced that the global grant he applied to the Nigeria project has been approved.

Rocco missed to announce that the Service Club meeting is taking place next Monday at Gords’ residence.
