“What’s Wrong with the Fishery. The Impact of Seals”.
A discussion on the fishery crisis facing Atlantic Canada and particularly Newfoundland and Labrador. Most fish stocks in critical stage after continued quota cuts and decline in commercial fishing activity for past three decades.  The impact on communities and the economy is significant. Frank asked if anyone had been vaccinated. Some had and some had not. He also asked for some happy thoughts:

Danny was delighted that Courtney had accepted the position of incoming VP.

Courtney was happy that he had been asked and spoke eloquently on what this means to him.

Frank asked if seal tasted good. Should he go back to England and open a seal and chip shop?

Dave had eaten seal before and liked it.

Arthur said after enough beers anything tastes good.

Dave mentioned that today's speaker, his cousin Bob was awarded the Governor General's award for bravery after saving two of three boys single handedly who had fallen through the ice.

Arthur mentioned that he heard a talk from a scientist from Jon's Hopkins who said that there have been cases of vaccines actually promoting the spread of a virus. They are monitoring this carefully. He also commented on the very well run vaccine clinic at Scarborough Town Center.

Gordon rang his bell, closed the meeting and wished everyone a good week.
