Six months ago, Theresa Pastore,  began renting an empty office in Scarborough. Now, the 3,600-square-foot space is home to what’s billed as Canada’s first “education bank.”

At the Education bank their mission is threefold.

Supporting children and their families

We support families on a fixed income by providing access to educational resources to empower learning and engagement.

Building Community

The Education Bank, which is located within the Family Service Centre, provides a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for families with children and youth.

Empowering Learning

The Education Bank serves all communities in the Greater Toronto Area for children and youth to access books, learning materials, activities and amenities needed for self-care that they choose to take home.
