President Donna Salamalay gave a  report of her reign with some incite into Rotary Citation and what needs to be done to reach the Platinum level.  We need to get two more new members within the next couple of months to fulfill one of the key requirements and we are almost there. She thanked Gerd Wengler and Anthony Lippa  for their financial support to the club.

The two key objectives are increasing membership and fund raising. Multipronged efforts on both fronts are underway and hopefully they will yield dividends.  She also spoke about our Website for the club as well as Facebook and Twitter accounts.

President elect Barry Smith stressed the importance of new membership for survival with a Cannabis parable from his gospel. The 3 stages of Cannabis life history consists of planting the seed, nurturing by watering and the resultant growth.  The seed is the new member and we help retain the new member by nurturing which will result in the growth of our club! We have 2 new members in the pipe line as well as many leads. Future does look rosy. Danny Cassidy spoke about the advent of virtual medicine by teleconference which enables  medical outreach to remote areas.

Sorry. No recording or PP this week.

Marbelous Draw:

Conducted by Jim Boyko. Gerd made the draw and the winning ticket belonged to Donna but failed to pick the magic marble. She donated the $5 consolation prize back to the club.

Sergeant at Arms/Happy Bucks:

Jim Boyko asked for happy bucks.

Avrum was happy that his daughter graduated and was no longer a financial drain! Barry was happy with the new recruits and many more happy events.

Danny Cassidy April 29th marked 7 years since his cardiac arrest. Still going strong.

Gerd has to make a public presentation regarding the construction of a building and he invited everyone to come and support him promising a cup of coffee ( not exactly a tempting offer!).

Saifoo was pleased with the Food Drive.

Peter was happy “Feeding the Habitat Women Build” with pancakes.

Mike was happy about  the talk given by a Brigadier General at the RCMI who happened to be an indigenous person.

President Donna concluded the meeting and wished everyone a pleasant week
