1. The Asialiscious Carnival will be held at Woodside Square mall on September 10,11, and 12th. This is promotes by Councilor Cynthia Lai and spearheaded by Saifoo Lau. 

We will have a booth at the carnival and as the time approaches Arthur will be contacting the membership to ask for volunteers. We are looking at giving out brochures and possibly running a competition.

 

2.Park cleanup project at Morningside Seasons Park 40 Seasons Drive Scarborough. 10am until 12 noon. This again is sponsored by Councilor Cynthia Lai, Volunteers are needed. Please contact Saifoo.

 

Danny announced that the meeting on September the 8th will include both Scarborough Passport and the Etobicoke Rotary clubs. Ron Dick will be the speaker and he will be speaking on the Rotary year ahead. It is important that we show our support for the club so please attend if you can.

 

 

 

 

Gordon asked for Happy Thoughts from the group.

 

Peter was happy to have attended an actual in person board meeting last week. He mentioned the difficulties with being the scribe and not having the zoom recording we are used to. He has an audio recorder but as the meeting was outdoors it was not completely successful.

 

 

Basil:  Invited himself to dinner at Arthur's place and was treated to chicken Vol Au Vent, Curried Meatballs and Crème Brûlée. Everything was delicious. He went on a cruise from Penetanguishene to Midland for lunch last weekend also.

 

Had a family get together in Saskatchewan. Went to a really nice cottage in Port Capel. Lovely to see all of the family. They flew back home on Monday. In addition, after doing nothing all weekend he managed to lose two pound. Gerd is also happy that he has a two week vacation coming up . He is going to PEI and is looking forward to it very much.

 

Alan's missing shaft for his driver showed up. He used it and was happy with it. Getting some withdrawal with not having ice cream for a while. His Son is on holiday to Myrtle Beach and are contacting him on Whatsapp every couple of days.

 

Danny completed the cancer ride on the weekend. He also had two of his grandchildren stay over last weekend. Both are now getting very confident in the pool.

 

Gordon enjoyed the in person board meeting. Sue isn't too happy teaching in-person and on-line at the same time. Gord's team is doing well and everything else is well in his life.

 

Frank Had a wonderful stay with his great granddaughter. Swimming in the lake up at his cottage. She now knows what they look like now. They're not just the people in the Masks.

 

President Danny closed the meeting and wished everyone a good week ahead.
