Mention was made of Avrum’s birthday, and he was greeted by a rousing round of “Happy Birthday.”

Avrum reminded us of the special “prospective members day” meeting on June 11th, with the President of the Scarborough Business Association as a guest speaker. All members are asked to invite prospective members to this meeting to grow our club together.

Sergeant at Arms: Alan collected happy bucks from all willing participants, including:

Barry, looking forward to a wonderful vacation.

Alan demonstrated his golfing injury, which resulted in the “Popeye Syndrome.”;

Gerd celebrated 25 years at Park Property Management, and also 25 years with the North Scarborough Rotary Club;

Danny had good news and bad news, including a recent fall from his bike

(unclip, unclip, unclip), Withdrawing from what used to be “the ride for heart, " with his team, raising $20,650 for the ride for cancer.

Guest Speaker: Arthur introduced our guest speaker, Marc Lasorsa, who is the President-Elect of the Agincourt Rotary Club and the Fleet Sales Manager at Scarborough Toyota/Lexus on the Park.

Marc provided a very interesting and informative presentation on the four different technologies available from Toyota. These include Hybrid Electric, Battery Electric, Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric, and Plug-in Electric Vehicles.

We heard about the various motor generators and their functions, the available driving range, and the anticipated battery failure rate, which made us all want to buy a plug-in electric vehicle.

Barry thanked Marc on behalf of our club.
