Arthur introduced our guest speaker, Lee Soda, Executive Director of Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA), as a good friend of our club and a very personable individual. She has two things on mind: Social Justice and Act of Kindness.

Presentation Summary:
Lee indicated that “Acts of Kindness” is the most fulfilling part of her job. The last 14 months has been very hectic due to COVID-19. While most doors were closed and everyone was experiencing lockdown, ACSA was fully opened as shutting down was not an option. HOPE IS NOT CANCELLED!
While other organizations were operating on a digital format, this does not serve ACSA clients’ needs. Most of their programs were deemed essentials such as the food bank, homelessness, gardening and children’ programs. They mobilized quickly with the Food Bank serving 1300-1500 families, around 5000 individuals weekly.
The volunteers are very dedicated and worked tirelessly to serve the community. ACSA also worked with the city of Toronto and resident leaders on equitable distribution of vaccines.

Thank You:  Mike Mushet thanked Lee for giving us an update and was pleased of our clubs continued support to ACSA.
