President Danny’s Inaugural Address (Outline): President Danny thanked the members, the board of directors and referenced the fireside chat as essential to allowing him to complete a gap analysis of where the club currently stands, where it needs to be and with some pathways on how to get there.
In his presentation, he highlighted the following as the key issues the club needs to address in 2021/2022.  In doing so, he identified the present state of each category along with suggested pathways for getting the club to where it needs to be.
 
- Luncheon meeting location
- Fundraising
- Social media and club promotion
- Membership and member participation
- Membership retention
- Social functions
- Distribution of club funds
 
Members’ Responses: President Danny’s inaugural address was greeted with an avalanche of appreciative comments that emphasised the professionalism that defined his presentation and the clarity with which he outlined the club’s current position, where the club needs to be and the pathways going forward. Vice President Courtney Fisher said he had a conversation with President Danny prior to the president’s presentation and confirmed their compatibility in the messaging and the priorities.

Barry Smith, International Service Committee: The committee will meet on Tuesday, July 13 @7:30 pm via Zoom, and will meet every month on the second Tuesday thereafter.  Barry invited the president, the vice president and the immediate past president to attend.
 
Rocco Colangelo, Club Matters Committee: The committee will meet on Monday, July 12.  Rocco also invited the president, vice president and the immediate past president to attend.
 
Arthur Retnakaran, Community Services Committee: The committee will meet on July 28, @ 7:30 pm

 

Peter Masson was Sgt of Arms and chaired a conversation on Happy Bucks
  • Trudy: Was thankful for a good life and for good health
  • Barry: Happy he would be going to visit with his grandchildren
  • Courtney: Expressed satisfaction with the Reading Buddies Program being offered by U-Bora Education Services
  • Alan: Pleased he was able to have his driveway redone
  • Michael: Happy his boat was ready to go and received his second COVID-19 shot
  • Gerd: Happy to have his mom visiting with him and thrilled to take on Lego challenges together
  • Basil and Dorothy: Are enjoying the new step re reopening procedures along with the opportunity to engage personal grooming services
  • Maddy: Celebrating a new job offer with a company in London, ON.
  • Saifoo: Happy to have received a haircut, his first COVID-19 shot in July and identified fresh air, highway accessibility and volunteering as three things to celebrate in Canada
  • Arthur: His garden is doing well. He harvested a large bowl of cherry tomatoes that he was able to show off to the meeting’s attendees
  • Dhanni: Happy the COVID-19 case counts are down
  • David: Happy to be with his daughter again and being having some tech challenges solved
  • Frank: Was celebrating heading to Algonquin Park this week where, as a photographer, he hopes to capture a picture of a moose
  • Rocco: Had his second COVID-19 shot and is happy his golf score has improved
  • Dave: Had a haircut, listened to his podcast and is encouraging others to listen to episodes 7, 8 and 9 (will be out shortly), and had an opportunity to play golf with his granddaughter
  • Gordon: Happy family is well, and was looking forward to the final of the Euro Cup – England vs Italy
  • Danny: Was happy to have his four grandchildren visiting with him and was able to purchase a new microphone.
