Rocco Colangelo

Hi everyone,
my name is Rocco Colangelo, director of Club Service also known in the North Scarborough Rotary Club as GROUP 1 (as in first).

Due to the COVID19 situation, all meetings are held virtually through Zoom.

Our group, meets every 2nd Monday at 7:00PM to plan Rotary functions such as:
Club Duties: like Weekly Rotary Meetings, Speakers Booking, Club Activities, Social events etc...

Rotary Club Meetings
are also held on line through Zoom every Wednesday at 12:30 PM, we always have (or hope to have) a speaker at all our meetings with the exception of the third Wednesday of each month  when we have a                            fellowship meeting at 7:00PM instead of 12:30.
The fellowship meetings are not formal and there is no speaker, just open discussions and some good jokes of course.
Note: At all meetings guests are welcome.

The Rotary meetings
are organized with the POD system and shared monthly among the three active groups, namely:
Club Service Group, Community Service Group and the International Service Group.
The director of the group responsible for the month, within their own groups assigns tasks like a Greeter, someone to introduce the speaker someone to thank the Speaker, the SAA and the Reporter to take notes of                the meeting.

Speakers Booking:
Our group always strives to have speakers booked at least four weeks in advance,
and posted to the Club Runner website.
Please contact the president or someone in our group if you know of any prospective speaker.

Sick and Visiting:
            We always wish everyone’s well-being
Please bring to our group’s attention if someone in our Club of any health issue so that get well cards can be sent.

Advertising:
We have advertising space available on Club Runner, if you know of anyone interested on placing ads or link of their website on Club Runner please contact Rocco

Club Activities:
Unfortunately until the COVID situation is resolved, we are not able to plan any social activities, pub nights, Christmas Party etc...
Let’s stay safe and wish you all “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year”

Kevin sent around in late November the proposed revisions to our club bylaws and constitution.
Today we need to review and if appropriate adopt the revisions to the constitution and the bylaws. As this meeting (December 9, 2020) is a properly constituted meeting, in accordance with the requirements we can proceed.  Kevin called for a motion and a second to accept a type of voting procedure. In this instance Kevin said he would accept a voice vote or a raised hand on the Zoom screen.   Moved: Rocco   Seconded: Peter
Voted on by attendees and carried. ( a vote of approval by 2/3rd of the members present is required)
Kevin asked for any issues or questions related to the proposed amendments.  There were none.

Called for a motion to close the discussion on the proposed changes.  Moved: Peter     Seconded:  Frank
Voted on and carried.

Motion called for to accept the revisions.  Moved: Gordon     Seconded:  Arthur
Voted on by those attending and carried.

Editors note: The above is as interpreted by the Scribe. (Danny Cassidy). For a full recording of Kevin's request, motions and voting please see the recording by following this link:  https://www.dropbox.com/s/qfhn0vslend706w/shared_screen_with_speaker_view.mp4?dl=0

Kevin updated the group on the auction and commented that Alan Meredith had circulated links to the promotional videos on you tube. They are very good and can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkrCrBYE2wRqQEr9rJiJ5ow/featured.

Please make sure that when you look at each video you subscribe to them. If we can get 100 subscribers this gives us significant benefits when working with Youtube.

The clubs have been calling prior bidders to direct them to the auction website for updates and to possibly donate by hitting the donate button.
