Sergeant-At-Arms: Jacob was the SAA today. He told us about a couple of historical events that had happened this day (April 5th): in 1803 was the first performance of Beethoven’s 2nd symphony and in 1955 Sir Winston Churchill resigned from being Prime Minister. He then fined anyone who hadn’t introduced any ladies to the club. Happy bucks: Arthur was happy as his daughter has been appraised as the top ranking clinical research associate in her company and his son has been made a full professor of medicine at the University of Toronto.
James was happy that he was celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary this week and that his daughter had just graduated.

Speaker: Roland introduced our guest speaker Rafik Riad.

Rafik is originally from Egypt, moved to Canada about 5 ½ years ago and he is the founder of ‘Buy Good Feel Good’. The organization’s main objective is to promote Fair Trade and Social Enterprise. The weekend of May 13th and 14th there will be a ‘Buy Good Feel Good Expo’ at Exhibition Place. They work with small companies throughout the world to promote their objective. They try and encourage larger companies to deal with these ‘fair trade and socially responsible’ smaller companies as well. Rafik gave out tickets for the show on May 13th and 14th and we have more if anyone would like to go.
