President Basil:

Happy St Paddy's day, you all!

1. May your giving hand never fail you.
2. May we all be alive at this same time next year.
3. May the Lord keep you in the palm of His hand, and never close his fist too tightl
4. May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live!
5. May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future.
6. Here's to a long life and a merry one. A quick death and an easy one. A pretty girl and an honest one. A cold beer-and another one!
7. May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.
8. May your neighbors respect you, trouble neglect you, the angels protect you, and heaven accept you.
9. Merry met, and merry part, I drink to thee with all my heart.
10. Dung hills rise and castles fall, we are all equal one and all.

The next meeting of the TV Auction Replacement Fundraiser is scheduled for Wednesday April 12th at 7:00 pm. The address is 200 Yorkland Blvd., 3rd Floor. You are all invited to attend as we search for something to replace the TV Auction. We are presently looking at streaming in some form, or selling on a platform such as ebay etc ...

A reminder that the club's Fireside will be on April 21st at the Highland Yacht Club, starting at 6:00 pm.

Our Rotary District has organized a Membership Matters Seminar for Saturday March 25 from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm. This is an excellent opportunity to hear about exciting ideas clubs are trying out, and the effect on membership. This seminar is at the Oshawa Shine Club, located at 1626 Simcoe Street North. Registration is free, and lunch will be provided.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday March 27th at 6:30 pm at Dhanni Ramdeen's. Since I will be away, I'm hoping that Mike will chair that meeting in my absence.

Kevin Manuel presented a cheque to Basil and Dhanni in the amount of $20,775.30 as our club’s earnings from the 2016 TV Auction.

Marbelous draw conducted by Frank Allison was drawn by Sylvia and won by Gerd Wengler

The mutant marble was not found and the $5 consolation prize was awarded. It was noted that there are only about 8 un-winning marbles left.

Sergeant at Arms. Maddy

Fines:  Maddy fined Dhanni and Frank Allison for not having their pins. She asked a question relating to knowing a local Rotary Club, which only TV Auction committee members knew (Skyline). She was there recently and had a very good time.

Happy bucks were provided by: Gerd provided two jokes, pre-cleared by his mother, so they were clean in return for his $5. Peter Masson and Arthur contributed for not knowing the Skyline club. Basil is happy as his TFC tickets arrived. He and Al Meredith also gave for their leaving this weekend for Cancun

Program
Today’s speaker was Silvia Nastamagos, of the Scarborough Support Services – now called Transcare Community Services.

Introduced by Gerd Wengler, she gave a presentation and provided handouts for us. She has been with them for 15 years and is currently searching for “MEALS ON WHEELS” volunteers. Her audio presentation is available via the link. She also showed a video about the organization, which we hope to also have available on the website. Sylvia was thanked by Arthur and was provided with a certificate for the restoration of sight of Joe, a 30 yr old Kenyan.
