Announcements:
 
Basil advised that items are needed for eBay auction. Please get them in ASAP as we are running out of time.
 
Basil also advised of the passing of Don Hall of the Scarborough Rotary club with visitation and funeral at McDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd. this Saturday Nov 18. Visitation is at 1:00PM with the service at 2:00PM
 
Steve Rutledge of Adopt a Village in Laos, advised that their fundraising for the season is winding up and they have provided 651 water filters this year and over 20,000 water filters by the end of year
 
Peter Masson advised of a letter of thanks sent by our Club to Bill Coyle regarding the donation of the wheelchair van to a Scarborough family. A copy of this letter is in the link below.

President Mike advised:
 
1) Regarding a Presidents Club meeting Nov 22 in Whitby- he will be represented by Dhanni
 
2) That the Club urgently needs a membership director on the Board. Volunteers are being sought.
 
3) That a student exchange info request was received from a local school which was followed up by Arthur
 
4) That next week we will have some new member prospects so good attendance would be appreciated.
 
Marbelous draw was conducted by Basil Dias. The ticket was drawn by Nevine Yassa and won by Frank Allison.
 
The mutant marble was NOT found and the $5 consolation prize was awarded.

Fines:  Frank Allison was subsequently fined for not paying for the winning ticket. Basil asked which club the new incoming RI President belongs to. Many happy bucks were paid as few knew he was from a certain island in the Caribbean – see next weeks speaker!

Today’s speaker was Nevine Yassa of Roota (Rising Out Of The Ashes-Zebaleen community in Egypt) and the Rotary Club of Scarborough. She was introduced by Dhanni Ramdeen and thanked by Gerd Wengler who presented an Operation Eyesight certificate.
