Sergeant at Arms:  Jim Boyko asked for happy bucks. Jim went to Newfoundland but it was eclipsed by Kevin who went to Alaska! Gordon was pleased with his team; Gerd went on a 45 km walk and is flying to Fogo Island, Newfoundland and staying at the Fogo Island Inn described as the Most Remote and Magical Hotel on Earth. Peter and Basil contributed happy bucks.

Speaker:  Basil introduced Raffy who in turn introduced the District Governor Jim Louttit. Jim became a Rotarian in 2005 and was the founding member of the Rotary Club of Lima Sunrise in Peru. He returned to Canada and joined the Toronto Sunrise Club. He is the Club’s Foundation Director and a major donor to the Paul Harris Society. He is the President of JVL Global Corp that specializes in Micro financing. His work with the Bank of Nova Scotia has taken him to several Latin American countries. However his real claim to fame is being a Harley driver!

“Making Humanity Better” was the theme of his talk based on the address of our International President John Germ. He congratulated our club’s 54th anniversary. He spoke about recruiting quality members and retaining them. He stressed the importance of club participation and support for the foundation. He called for a net growth of 50 members among the 54 clubs in our district.

Basil thanked the Governor and assistant Governor and presented them with our club’s engraved glasses for their favourite beverage!
Conclusion: President Basil Dias concluded the meeting and wished everyone a pleasant week.
