30 Years of Service Celebration - November 8, 2016 

 

The event took place exactly 30 years from the day in 1986 when the first flight was arranged by Hope Air (then called Mission Air). Hope Air's co-founders, Joan Rogers and Jinnie Bradshaw, were inspired to start this charity after personally witnessing the impact long-distance travel had on cancer care patients who needed to travel from their homes in Northern Ontario to specialist treatment in Toronto. Hope Air has now arranged more than 109,000 free flights for low-income Canadians in its 30 years as a unique national charity.
